The Napoleon Cat is a relatively new breed, categorized by The International Cat Association (TICA) as a Domestic Hybrid Breed, “A breed developed from a deliberate cross between two existing domestic breeds, incorporating characteristics of both parental breeds into the new breed.” Napoleons are short-legged cats derived from Munchkins and Persians. TICA accepted the breed for registration status in 2005, although the CFA does not recognize the breed.
Napoleon Cat are a short-legged breed with a domed head, with a more moderate muzzle than the Persian-type cats and round, expressive eyes. The overall impression of this cat should be one of roundness and sweetness. Napoleon kittens are found in a similarly broad range of colors and patterns as their parent breeds.
