The Donskoy or Don Sphynx cat breed is a Russian cat breed whose history begins with the foundational cat originated or being discovered in Rostov-on Don in Russia in 1987. There was a little story of this cat. A professor of the State Pedagogical Institute names Elena Kovaleva encountered young boys playing soccer with the bag, and inside the bag, there was a little cat squalling in fear and in pain. Elena took the kitten along with the bag and brought the kitten home. Elena named the kitten Varvara. While this cat grew up, it also keeps losing her hair until she was hairless for which she was treated for in vain
The appearance of Dongskoy cats are characterized by magic harmony and their wrinkles give them an extraordinary old wizened look. The Donskoy cat breed is in a class of its own. This cat breed belongs to a highly intelligent, beautiful loving cats that stairs you directly into your eyes and it seems to enter or penetrate your very inner soul. These very attractive and beautiful hairless cats lets you remember of extra terrestrials coming from the outer space. If you can imagine the head of ET with long shell type ears, almond-shaped eyes that make you believe in the transmigration of a Bastet Goddess Ghost, the scruff of a giraffe, a small belly of a piglet, the tail of the Rats` King from The Nutcracker, small webbed toys of a monkey all wrapped up in into a leather or suede vestment with numerous wrinkles – you willl get the surrealistic image of the enigmatic Donskoy.

Don Sphynx are extremely or very affectionate with a frisky nature and uncontrollable curiosity. They are very loyal to their owners. Russian Don Sphynx are easy to work with. They allow their owners to do whatever they want to do with them as long as it won’t hurt them so much, even the unpleasant procedures like medical injecting and nail trimming. Don Sphynx to be apart of all activities and are easily trained to follow voice commands. These highly sociable cat needs company and should not be without a companion pet if left alone for long periods of time.
This hairless or most hairless cats like the Donskoy cannot survive outdoors. They can easily get chilled or sunburn. You need to take them a bath once every week because they can be very greasy so easily. They become greasy because there is no hair in their body to absorb their body oil. Their wrinkled and nude skin can be easily prone to skin cuts or minor wounds because they lack the cushioning of fur.
Cat of this breed can very well take care of themselves and pay of the utmost attention to the purity of his body but they are the number of hygienic procedures in which they need help from the owner.
As with any hairless cat, a Donskoy or Don Sphynx will need to be bathed and have ears cleaned regularly. Bathing should be done with pet safe shampoo.
